Scaling Up

This set of indicators examines the extent to which communities, teachers, schools, and districts are working toward making more and better learning time the “new normal” in American public schools. They aim to identify signs of a shift toward the norms and beliefs that undergird more and better learning time and of a systemic improvement of educational opportunities for all students. The indicators look for evidence of widespread adoption such as the existence of a viable more and better learning time ecosystem, increased media attention, and greater understanding of expanded learning time through research.
